Site Setup

The Site Setup page contains the main configuration for the site. You can configure:

  • School name
  • Graduation year
  • Site color theme
  • Class Site Admins group
  • School logo

Access to Site Functionality

Users in the Site Admin group can:

  • Update the front page (Home)
  • Edit the Site Setup page
  • Re-order and remove pages from the sidebar
  • Change page permissions to restrict edit security on a page (see below)
  • Update all Class Directory entries

By default, the Class Site Admin group only contains the Site Owner who created the site.  This user can add others to the group.  All users in this group have the same privledges as the site owner.

Users who are not Site Admins can:

  • Update their own profile
  • Create a page
  • Post to the Class Blog
  • Add Class Photos
  • Invite additional classmates

Sidebar

The sidebar is a global setting for your site. Changes to this sidebar will be seen by all users. You can add, remove, or re-order pages on the sidebar. Only Class Site Admins can remove and reorder pages on the sidebar.

Page Permissions

Site Admins can change the security on a page once it has been created. Pages that can be protected have a permissions button in the upper right corner of the page. Remember ClassHome is only editable by Site Admins so you don't need to change permissions on this page.

This gives a Site Admin access to the permissions dialog which allows them to restrict editing to only the admin group.
